Artists Opening Reception Featuring
Helen Mary Beck, Juliann Carbin & Paula Sparks
Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 from 5p-9p
&
Paula Sparks Jewelry Trunk Show
Saturday, Feb. 6th 10a-3p
Absolutely Art & Café Zoma proudly present Helen Beck, Julianne Carbin, and Paula Sparks, our featured artists for February.
Helen Mary Beck is a fine art textile artist now living in Cambridge, WI. Her show "Stitched", is a unique style of watercolor on canvas with embroidered textiles. This body of her work will be featured in Absolutely Art.
Juliann Carbin's exhibit "Aurora Nights" is a photographic snapshot of the world at one moment in time; as the lights dance through the cold Wisconsin night, they brighten the Madison sky and add an electrical, unsettled, and mystical charge to the air. Her work will be featured in Café Zoma.
Paula's current body of work includes Enamel with the intention to integrate form, texture, color and movement. She also uses cloisonné wire and applies the enamel with a very fine paintbrush, a technique called wet packing. Once enamel pieces are made, she bezel sets them in box construction forms with other semi-precious stones.
Paula will have her works on display Friday, 2/5 from 5p-9p and Saturday, 2/6 from 10a-3p.
Our musical guest this month will be Madison singer songwriter Corey Hart. He will play songs from his solo album, "Words Like Wildfire" and
his latest duo release, "Wooden Houses".
We hope you can join us for a night of fun and great treats from Bunky's Café and drinks for all! The show will run 2/1/10-2/28/10.

Absolutely Art & Café Zoma are proud to present our featured artists for March, Charlie Whitehead and Angela Johnson.
"Reflections" by artist Charlie Whitehead is a collection of his acrylic paintings, expressing his feelings and experiences. Charlie's cerebral palsy presents physical challenges, he is able to use a combination of bright colors and sweeping motions to create unique paintings. His work will be featured in Absolutely Art.
Angela Johnson's photography will be displayed in Café Zoma. Creativity has always been a driving force in her life. She expresses who she is through creating and making art. Photography is the media she has always been drawn to, especially photographing nature up-close. The works she chose for this show are based on
natural environments around Wisconsin.
We hope you can join us for a night of fun, great food from Bunky's Café, and drinks for all! Corner House (Earl Cameron, Jessie Mitchell, and Kevin Wissink) will be playing for your listening pleasure. The instruments in the band consist of Fiddle, Flute, Guitar, Banjo, and Concertina.
“Shirts that Supply” Program at Absolutely Art
Please help us supply area schools and other organizations that offer art opportunities to children. $5 of each tee-shirt sold will go directly in to our “Shirts that Supply” fund. Once this fund reaches $50 a local group or school will be contacted and asked for their Wish list (in some cases this could be basic tools). Absolutely Art will then purchase $50 worth of these supplies and deliver them to the group. Wear your shirt with pride knowing you have helped foster art education for our next generation!
Thank You to Artist Jennie Nuese for donating her services in creating the tee-shirt design.
